HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?
Find all the information you need, gathered in one convenient spot.
What is a Cold Process Soap?
Cold process soap is handcrafted by combining natural oils and butters with lye through a traditional soap-making process. The soap is then poured, cut, and carefully cured for several weeks. This slower process helps create a naturally rich, creamy bar with a beautiful handcrafted character.
Are Cold Process Soaps Safe for the Skin?
Yes. Once properly cured, the lye used in the soap-making process has reacted with the oils through saponification, leaving no active lye in the finished soap. Lavika soaps are thoughtfully formulated with nourishing oils, butters, clays, and botanical ingredients for a gentle and enjoyable cleansing experience.
How Long Does a Cold Process Soap Last?
With proper care, a Lavika soap bar can last several weeks, depending on how frequently it is used and how it is stored. To extend its life, keep the bar on a draining soap dish and allow it to dry between uses. Avoid leaving it sitting in standing water.
